Hyogo Prefectural Police announced on July 26 that a second year student (17) and judo club member of Nissei Gakuen Daisan High School in Himeji collapsed during judo training on July 25 and died of acute subdural hematoma in the early morning of July 26. The prefectural police think that he may have hit his head hard during break fall training, and are collecting information from teachers and students. The student who died joined the club the day before. No teacher attended the practice that day. According to Himeji Police the student was practicing at the high school judo training hall from 10:00 on July 25 with three other members. Since he vomited in the bathroom during practice, the club teacher, who was in a different place in school, came to see him. Recognizing that he was unconscious, the teacher called 119. The student was practicing break fall by himself while the other students practiced standing techniques.
