It accepted the decision by the Nigata District Court Takada Branch to pay compensation of about 34 million yen to the parent of a judo club member of Myoko Junior High School who died after practice at school. The student who was a first year student, died due to hitting his head during judo training.<br \/>\nThe decision given on Jan. 30 supported most of the claims made by the student\u2019s parents, emphasizing that the judo club teacher could have cancelled the practice or arranged another teacher to supervise the club. Payment of about 34 million yen by the town against the claim of about 66 million 70 thousand yen was ordered.<br \/>\nThe town had already paid 22 million yen in condolence money after the death of the student. The parents filed a lawsuit the following year because the responsibility and negligence of the school was not clearly defined.
