First year junior high school student dies in Nagasaki Prefecture; falls unconscious during judo practice

A first year student and member of the judo club, Kazutaka Sawasaki (12), fell unconscious and collapsed during judo practice at Chijiwa Junior High School in Nagasaki Prefecture on Sep. 14, around 3 pm. He was taken to hospital but died of acute subdural hematoma around 1:00 pm on Sep. 15.
The investigation by Obama Police indicated that Kazutaka attended the judo club practice which started from 1:00 pm on Sept. 14. A coach was teaching him and 7 other members. During randori practice (free sparring) he suddenly lost balance and fell backwards together with his opponent. When he tried to get up he lost consciousness.
