High School Student dies after collapsing during physical education

A second year high school student (16), who fell unconscious during a physical education (PE) class, dies after being taken to hospital by ambulance on Sept. 4. The cause of death was ventricular fibrillation, a condition that may occur in a person who looks healthy.
The school indicated that the student was listening to advice on judo techniques from the teacher during PE, when he suddenly squatted down and lost consciousness. An ambulance was immediately called and emergency treatment including, heart massage, was provided in the vehicle; however he died around noon in hospital.
